Sosososo stoked for this! This is such a great addition to Zapier. Time to run through all of our existing zaps and refactor them all utilizing Paths :p

Great work Zapier team! (:

I am really excited about this feature also which I just noticed while trying to add some steps to an existing zap. One problem though is we cannot add paths to the middle of an existing zap. I think it should give us a choice to allow us to do it if we are happy for all the existing tasks below to be added to the first path (Path A), or exit if not what intended. This would save a lot of time recreating old limited zaps that needed this feature.

Great idea Doug,
Currently, I am suffering from the same problem. It takes a lot of time to recreate and test again something that is already working

Just missing a "path duplicator" to save even more time building your zaps

AWESOME!

Question: Can we bring the trigger data back to the root zap after it has gone through the first 'path scenario' (to continue going through the remaining steps)?

So, when a trigger comes in, perform action 1 for all cases, then go through 'if then' and then back to the parent zap to continue the rest of the integration.

This way each leg of the path isn't ultimately duplicating the same steps after the basic 'if then' is finished running.

Maybe this is how it already works, I haven't tried it yet...any ideas anyone?

Nevermind, it currently isn't supported: http://example.24hrtees.net/3o233F24223y

"Why can't I add steps after my Path Group?
Paths may only be added as the last step in a Zap. If you need the same steps performed at the end of a Zap, these will need to be added within each Path.

Please reach out to our support team to let us know what type of workflow you want to use with Paths that would require steps to run after a Path step. We want to know about it!"

We're using a zap to copy calendly events to a shared google calendar. We want to add a zoom link to each event, but we have to use a separate zoom account with each source calendar, because zoom meetings can't overlap. So we need to branch out on a path to create a zoom meeting for each calendly event and then use that data to create the event in the shared google calendar

Sadly you can't duplicate paths. More often than not the paths are almost identical with only small variations. Having to write them all out from scratch for each path is actually more long-winded than the old way of duplicating a zap for each path. PLEEEASE add the functionality to "duplicate path"

To make matters worse you can't copy and paste into the fields without Zapier going into a frenzy so every details has to be hand types leaving far too much margin for error. Although super happy tohave paths, won't be using this until we can duplicate paths, crazy that you can't.

This path feature is really great. I had moved many of my requirements to Integromat because they could handle the path or routing requirement. So glad that it is now available. I used my first path today. Thanks.

I sent Matt in support a detailed email about this - it's a great enhancement, but IMHO there are a couple of things that restrict its usefulness:

1) Errors still stop Zaps - so you can't test for an error condition.
2) The problem that others have noted about having to copy extensive and sometimes complex steps - necessary since you can't simply insert the test and alternate path.

I had hoped you would have implemented a simple STOP instruction and the ability to conditionally branch to a step beyond the STOP. I know this violates the GOTO-Less programming approach that has been popular for the last 30-35 years, but in what amounts to a JCL or Batch-Like facility, it's still simple to write and simple to insert.

Man, Zapier. You need to do a better job of up-selling within your product. I would have upgraded months ago if I had known this existed 🤩
